Friends of Marina Park believe in the philosophy espoused by Project for Public Spaces “that parks succeed when people come first”. We are not alone in our concerns that “a typical approach to waterfront development that includes standard-issue condos, hotels, (etc.)… threatens the essential publicness of the waterfront”.
In Thunder Bay’s case, the threat is amplified because development is proposed within the jewel of our park system, Prince Arthur’s Landing in Marina Park.
